LP Consulting (www.lpconsulting.ca) and the Northeast Biosolids & Residuals Association (NEBRA) www.nebiosolids.org, are working together on an exciting research project funded by the National Research Council Canada-Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) to advance new agricultural and carbon opportunities for industrial waste by-products. Together, we are building the science needed to turn residual materials into verifiable soil amendments and defensible carbon-reduction assets.
We are inviting a select group of industry partners in Canada and the USA to participate by submitting a representative sample of your material for full laboratory testing at no cost to your company, except the price of shipping.
Why Participate
Your material will be evaluated to determine:
Agricultural nutrient and liming value
Regulatory suitability
Fertilizer-replacement and GHG-reduction potential
Future carbon and circular-economy opportunities
What You Receive
A complete lab analysis report (nutrients, metals, pathogens, pH/CCE where applicable, moisture)
Nutrient-replacement values for agricultural use
Early positioning in a national circular-economy and decarbonization framework
All lab costs fully covered (excluding shipping)
Important Timeline
To meet project timelines, all samples must arrive at the laboratory by January 23, 2026.
All company information is confidential. The report to NRC-IRAP will contain numbers for sample analysis, not company names or location. Due to cost constraints, samples will not be analyzed for PFAS at this time. Should the residual have value for agricultural use, additional testing and screening will be considered.
How to Participate
Email Janine at NEBRA and/or Hannah at LP Consulting to confirm your interest and give a short description of your residual. We will send you:
The sampling protocol
The lab chain-of-custody form
Shipping instructions
There is no obligation beyond providing a sample, and all participants will receive their full data package. We would be pleased to discuss your material and answer any questions.
We hope you see the enormous opportunity to participate in this project!
Hannah Stokdijk (LP Consulting) and Janine Burke-Wells (NEBRA)
